ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS

PROJECT 01 | BARANGAROO HOUSE

Barangaroo House is Located in the Barangaroo precinct of Inner Sydney, Australia. Designed by Architecture Studio Collins and Turner the three storey Restaurant, Bar and Smoke Lounge offers views over the Darling Harbor.

During my first year studying Architecture I was assigned Barangaroo House for a Precedent Study and to be rebuilt in Rhino. This was a great introduction to Rhino as I had no previous experience working with this software before. Everything was completed through Rhino from Modelling right through to Documentation and Drawings. Furnishings and Renders were completed using Enscape and its accompanying asset library then finally touched up in both Photoshop and Illustrator.

PROJECT 02 | CORRORBOREE CENTRE

“Corroboree” is an Australian Aboriginal dance ceremony which may take the form of a sacred ritual or an informal gathering.

During my Second Year studying Architecture, we were given this prompt to think over while designing a building for Aboriginal Gatherings and Performances. The brief described the need for 4 interior performance spaces and 1 exterior performance space and Café, along with the amenities needed to support them. My ground floor performance space was intended to have a connection to nature. Standing on the stone floor performance space and looking upwards was intended to give the visitor a feeling of a forest canopy high above. This project was completed completely in Rhino, from Modelling to Final Drawings. Rendering and most furnishings were completed using Enscape.

PROJECT 03 | WATERFRONT REVITALISATION PROJECT

The site sits in Docklands, Melbourne, Australia, directly on the Yarra River. On the site currently sits an old heritage listed cargo shed and Cargo Crane which had to be considered whilst designing our proposal.

The site focuses on the relationship between site and water and how water can be used as an element and incorporated directly within the site itself, rather than sitting upon or next to the site. We explored the idea from the beginning through oil and water photography which served as a basis and program for our proposed site. Completed for my Design Studio 4 class of Semester 1, 2022 for my Bachelor of Architecture at Swinburne University of Technology. This project was completed with a group of 5 students, including myself. These renders are of my own creation, with the modelling being completed by each team member. I was tasked with Developing the pre-existing cargo shed on the site, oil and water photography, initial site modelling, texturing and final renders; along with documentation for the final proposal.

PROJECT 04 | WALSH STREET HOUSE EXTENSION

I completed this for my second mid semester assignment during my final year of my Bachelor of Architecture. The brief was to add an extension onto the existing Walsh Street House by the Australian Architect Robin Boyd.

The Walsh Street House is located in South Yarra, Victoria Australia, Designed by Robin Boyd. Known for its iconic sloped roof design and its concept of space separation, splitting private bedrooms and children’s spaces with public areas such as the kitchen and lounge through a green open courtyard. I proposed to create an enclosed greenhouse which connects each wing of the home through a private greenspace leaving the large open courtyard accessible for gatherings.

This assignment was initially created in a team of 4 members, including myself. The group work consisted of modelling the building in Revit using a Local Drive as a central model for the group to access. After the initial modelling has been completed, we detached individual versions and hosted them on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for remote access to complete the remainder of the project.

PROJECT 05 | TRAINPORT

Trainport was a project I completed with a group of 3 others during my last semester of my final year studying Architecture. Located on the current site of the Newport Railway Museum, this project reimagines the museum as a bustling hub of activities and family oriented events.

The project uses a railway Roundhouse as it's main hub where the various exhibition spaces branch off and created a loop back to the Roundhouse again. Additionally to the Hub, it also acts as a point of reference when walking around the exhibitions as it can always be seen from every angle within the exhibitions. Trainport also boasts a Café, which opens during the day, and a Restaurant which is open during the evening.

My role working on this project was 3D Modelling, Texturing, Lighting, Rendering and Floorplans. The Roundhouse and some elements of the Café and Restaurant were modelled by my group members. I also created a Video Walkthrough using Enscape and Premiere Pro.

All modelling was completed using Rhino with Enscape handling the Rendering. I used Photoshop to give the rendering some post-processing. For the video, I used Enscape again for the Camera Animation and I composited the video in Premiere Pro.
